Polka Dot Punches Free SAB set!

Happy Saturday! Okay, here's the one I had the brain blurp on.  I am really enjoying this set-I was trying to use the individual images that I punched out in different colors but then I realized (after I stepped away!) that I was trying to do too much with the layout I was trying.  So, I ended up using just one image - the one that fits the Star Flower punch.  Then, I punched a star flower out of Kiwi Kiss and snipped off two of the petals to make leaves behind the star flower.  The cardstock is Riding Hood Red with 3 images from the SAB set stamped also in RHR.  I love it!  The cardstock under the white is Old Olive and the ribbon is Old Olive 1/2" striped grosgrain.  I also stamped the sentiment which is from Upsy Daisy and punched it with the oval punch.  The scrap of DSP is the Free SAB paper.  I hope to post a card tomorrow using random scraps of this SAB DSP.
Remember, you can get either the Polka Dot Punches set or the 12 x 12 SAB DSP (Designer Series Paper) free with a $50 purchase of Stampin' Up! product through the end of March.  To see the rest of the SAB (Sale-A-Bration) freebies click on the link to my Stampin' Up! website. Once there, click on "Promotions" toward the bottom and it will bring up the Sale-A-Bration page with a link to the catalog.
Well, hope you like the card and also hope you can find some time to stamp, craft, knit or whatever else you like to do that is fun!

Botanical Blooms swap

Ever get the groove going but just can't make it happen? That was me today!  I decided to work on a new card to share using the SAB set Polka Dot Punches since the free set/ribbon/paper promotion ends in one month.  I thought I had the idea, started cutting and stamping and just couldn't get it just right-argh!  Boys were getting out of school so I decided to leave the room and come back to it later. Sometimes you have to just let it go!  I hope that the finishing touch will just "POP" out at me later this evening so I can share it with you!  I will also have the details for the Stamp event on March 15 as well.

Meanwhile, look at this awesome card!  Remember the demo meeting I told you about that I needed to make 8 swaps for? This is one I got in return from Sharon last weekend.  I am thinking of using a variation of it on the 15th. Besides the free SAB set, Botanical Blooms, also used that is new to the catalog is the Eyelet Border punch (page p.185)!  We will most likely use this technique but use my Scallop Edge punch since I don't have the new one.  The chocolate chip is popped up with dimensionals, Dazzling Diamonds are used in the middles of the flowers which are watercolored.  The ribbon is 1 1/4" grograin Pink Piroutte. That's it for now... I'm heading outside before the sun goes away!

Garden Greetings & Cheep Talk

Boy do I need to get better at updating my blog!
Close to the weekends things start to get busier and  to be perfectly honest with you my blog is at the bottom of the list!  I'm sorry!  I'm a Mom with 3 boys and a lot of pans in the fire.  I do feel more organized with each new day and hope to have a plan next time!
With that said, I do have a few samples I could share from my latest demo swap in between my own samples. This card I'm posting here was my contribution.  Each of us brings x number of cards (depending on the number of attendees) of the same card to swap with others participating.  This way we all get different samples to show our customers.  As a demonstrator who simply cannot buy all the new things or have time to make a bazillion samples - this is great and fun!  Anyway, this card was made using Cheep Talk and Garden Greetings... two of my new favorite sets!  Colors used:  Chocolate chip, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red, Pacific Point and versamark for the flowers added on the Kiwi Kiss cardstock.  I also used the paper piercer on the strip of Real Red cardstock and double punched the scallop punch to get the cool look around the bird.  The circle was cut out using the circles die on the Big Shot.  By the way, I did individually cut out those flowers.  And no, it wasn't that hard!  Till next time....

Loving this new set... Cheep Talk!

Ah, a possible option for March stamp camp or the Stamp a Stack?  I'm trying to figure out exactly what we'll be making.  I've got a cute little basket, a mini clip board perfect for daily to-dos or a grocery list, a note pad with pen and a few cards.  I will also be posting a date soon for a simple Stamp-a-Stack as well where we'll make 10 cards, 2 each of 5 designs complete with envelopes for $22.  I'll add that class if I have enough interest so let me know if adding to your card stash and having fun making cards here sounds like something you'd be interested in!  I hope to do those every few months in between Stamp Camps for those that have fun making the cards to send away and not just for personal samples!  We'll also use the Big Shot dies and texture plates which not every one has at home to use for their cards.

Please let me know if there are any techniques you would like me to try and cover in an upcoming Stamp Camp. Thanks for checking in!  Have a great day :) ...Kim

Gotta love those birds and Sweet Always DSP!

Well, here they are again!  A quick card to post.  This one was pretty simple and I loved the colors!  Pumpkin pie base with hearts stamped in versamark for a background-hard to see, I know.  Big Shot "Top Note" in chocolate chip and pink 5/8 grograin.  I also stamped the birds on some of the pink polka dotted Sweet Always DSP and cut them out and adhered them to the birds stamped on the whisper white and then punched out with the 1 3/8 inch circle punch.  Added a dimensional and done!  I'll be posting a sample later with the birds from the Cheep Talk set.  I hope to play later tonite after the boys are to bed.  Hope this cards finds you having a nice day :)

Cantrells 2 - Nasty Cold bug 3

Hi all!  First Zachary, then Nick, now me! Though we are still in the midst of the family sickness I thought I'd post a card that I made using the free SAB paper.  Some of you made this at Stamp Camp using the Candy Lane paper for a Valentine card.  This is the same exact card and uses the Love You Much stamp set on page 27 of the new catalog.  The birds really help it be much more than a typical "valentine" set.  It's a great "friend," "hello," or "thinking of you" set too! I also love that the hearts (not shown here) punch out using the new Heart to Heart punch.  I'll work on a card using that to show you in a future post.  I'm getting a new shipment of new stamp sets tomorrow with the Stamp Camp order and will work on posting new samples using those as well!

I hope your families are staying healthy and enjoying the 3 day weekend!  For those with an order-I will call you tomorrow if it comes in!  Toodles... Kim

Send a Card a Friend Day!

This past Saturday, Feb. 8 was "Send a Friend a Card Day."  Three of you who came to Stamp Camp on Sunday participated!  This is Annie's card using Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss card stock and bits of Stampin' Up! designer series paper.  Love the colors and the use of the strips to make a quilt!  I'm thinking this is a great use for those strips of paper that are hard to throw away!  Beautiful card - thanks for sharing Annie!

Thanks to those that were able to come to Stamp Camp on Sunday.  I had a fun time and hope you did as well!  The order has been placed and ought to be here early next week.
Barb made a card to send and Karen brought me a Valentine card using A Happy Heart stamp set that I will post tomorrow.  I hope if you weren't able to attend that maybe these cards will inspire you to send a card from your stash or make a new one to send to a friend!

Quick project

Yikes!  I haven't posted since Superbowl!  What a heartbreaker (for those of us who are Cardinal Fans) — I guess I'm over it now.  It was a great game either way!

Don't give up on me!  I do hope to post at least every other day... I've had one of those weeks!  The good news is that I am done with our personal taxes and the taxes for Cantrell Landscaping as well!!  Sweet.

Back to stamping... here's a cute little box I found in this month's Stampin' Success and thought I'd try my hand at making it to show you all.  The picture stinks-one of those days where I can't figure out the camera to make it crisp.  It would make a great thank you, hold a Valentine or Just Because treat, maybe make great Shower or Wedding favors too.  Please let me know if you'd like a copy of the template and I'd be happy to give it to those coming to Stamp Camp or pop it in the mail to you.   The cardstock is Kiwi Kiss, SU! stamp set is Wow Flowers with a brad in the middle of the pumpkin pie flower.  EASY!  I hope your week is going well!

P.S. I added a link to the right that directs you to my Stampin' Up! website where you'll find more projects and ideas!  For now click on the catalog that says, "Click Here to Place an Order."  I need to update the site but for now that will be how you get to my site.  More on that later... Kim

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!

Do I need to say the Cantrell's are hoping the Cardinals can win this one?  I also anxious to see if for any reason the Steelers get to play #2 Dennis Dixon.  He is one of the backups to Ben Roethlisberger and was a draft pick from the Oregon Ducks AND one of my favorite players! Other than the Cards winning -- it would be fun to see Dennis out there!

Anyway... thought I'd post a card I made with the "Always" stamp set just for inspiration.  I used the large scallop that we will be using for one of the cards at Stamp Camp next Sunday.  No DSP on this one-just stampin!  I used versamark for the background images on the Close to Cocoa and the Baja Breeze cardstock-it's a little hard to see in this photo.  The other cardstocks used were Whisper White and Really Rust.  Ribbon is SU! Baja Breeze.  Of course the set is "Always," a current set from Stampin' Up!

THE SUNDAY, FEB. 8 STAMP CAMP IS OFFICIALLY FULL.  HOWEVER, IF I GET MORE FOR MONDAY I DO HAVE SOME PEOPLE WHO COULD MOVE TO MONDAY TO MAKE ROOM FOR YOU... IF ARE STILL INTERESTED BUT HAVEN'T REPLIED... LET ME KNOW BY TOMORROW!!  If you just can't make it, check back tomorrow and I hope to have my Stampin' Up! site linked to this one by late day.  You should be able to view the Sale-A-Bration catalog - I guess since it is Feb. 1 today you ought to be able to view it on www.stampinup.com. You can either call me and I can place an order for you or you can order directly from my website online after I get it set up.  You will receive a free catalog with any online order!

Another option if you can't make it... SAB is a great time to have your own workshop-lots of great benefits!  If you are interested in a Feb. or March workshop just give me a call!

Off to get us all ready for church!  Whether you watch the Super Bowl or not, I hope you all have a Blessed Sunday!!  :) Kim
