Cards for Connie

Here's a fun card I made for a dear friend who moved to Seattle - miss you Connie! She only needed a handful of these but we couldn't resist coming up with an idea with this Stampin' Up! set because it was so Connie! :) I am blanking on the name of the set right now but can tell you the other products I used. By the way, on the inside I printed a "We moved" along with her new address and there is a cut out of the same dress but with different Designer Series Paper - get it? Change of a dress? Ha, ha.

Anyway, I used the Perfect Polka Dot impressions folder on the whisper white base and ran it through the Big Shot. Then I cut out a 4 3/4 x 5 piece of Rich Razzleberry and attached a 4 3/4 x 2 inch piece at the bottom with adhesive and ran it through the Big Shot again with the Stampin' Up! exclusive :) Top Note die. The DSP is from Razzleberry Lemonade and the ribbon is the Rich Razzleberry polka dot grosgrain. The dress was stamped in black on whisper white and then punched out using the Large Oval Punch. Then, I stamped the same dress on the DSP and cut it out closely with my snips and used my adhesive to adhere it right over the other image - not as tough a job as you may think, the dress has straight and clean lines. HAVE FUN!

Fun new Bird Punch! Available finally!

It's probably safe to post this card since I'm pretty sure my father in law doesn't check out my blog for new card ideas! This is a card I came up with for his Birthday on Monday. It is always so hard to come up with one that isn't too "girly." I know he loves his yard, loves to garden and definitely like birds! I used a few of the ideas from the "manly" card we are making at the upcoming Big Stampin' Event on March 6. I used a texture plate on the old olive that I ran through the Big Shot. It comes in a set of 6 for 11.95 and this particular texture is called Harlequin. I sponged Old Olive ink over the top. The sentiment is from the stamp set, On Your Birthday and the bird is of course from the new Bird Punch that you'll see in the Occasions mini. I used Stampin' Dimensionals (of course!) and also added the touch at the top at the last minute because it needed something else. I used the old fold a punch out from the "word window" punch and add a brad in it technique. Easy! Enjoy! By the way, since this isn't the greatest photo -- colors used here are: Kraft, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue and Ruby Red cardstock. Any questions? Send me a note :)
For those ordered this in February, it has finally shipped out!

One last Heart Project!

Made this card for a workshop right before Valentine's day but I think it could be used anytime of the year! Stampin' Up! must think so too because they have announced that the set, "Sweetheart," will be available in both wood and clear mount in the new Idea Book & Catalog that comes out in July! The heart cups and envelops will be available at least until July. Love the bird and the set is easy to use! It also comes with a few sentiments :) Here is a link to the flyer... http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/HeartFlyer_US.pdf.
Supplies used besides the Sweetheart set were: Fine Flourish single stamp from Occasions Mini, Old Olive, Baja Breeze and Whisper white cardstock; Regal Rose 5/8 grosgrain; eyelet border punch; full heart punch; stampin' dimensionals under heart; Old Olive, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip classic ink. Pretty simple!

Couple Valentine ideas!

Hello! Has it really been two weeks? Sorry! Time flies when you have a family :)
A couple of cute and easy 3x3s to inspire you for Valentine crafting!
Punches used: Scallop circle, 1 3/8 circle, Modern label (card on left in whisper white and behind the i {heart} you in chocolate chip on the card on the right), Curly label. The background stamp used on the card on the right was the 9.95 Fine Flourish stamp from the Occasions mini. I also used it on a red 3x3 on a heart that I'll have to post tomorrow :)
Birds and I {heart} you are from the Love you Much set. I stamped the birds on designer paper, cut them out, and adhered them to the outline of the birds stamped on white. Hope that all made sense! Gettin' tired, headin' for bed :) Kim
