Christmas Cheer!

The Scentsational Season really does make it so easy for cards and other fun paper craft items!  This one went together quickly...  The only thing I think I should explain is the pretty border under the white cardstock.  I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits for the Big Shot - it is on page 190 of the Idea Book & Catalog.  That's all folks!

So here we go with a quick card idea using my new favorite set - Scentsational Season.  It pairs up with  the Holiday Collection framelits for easy stamping and cutting (as long as you have a Big Shot)!  Seriously, it doesn't get much easier and the images are timeless really.  It comes with this mug and it's steam, candy cane and not pictured but soon to be in another post, the christmas tree and gingerbread man.  I popped those on with stampin' dimensionals on the largest framelit from Apothecary Accents framelit collection.  The Gumball piece was run through the Big Shot as well with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder found in the Holiday Catalog.  Let's get going on those Christmas cards!!

Mixed Bunch greeting...

Hello!  Been MIA since late September I noticed... boy, time flies!  I'm a sub at my son's school district and have been working as close to full time as I have since I worked at different school district in Flagstaff, AZ almost 20 years ago!  I've been trying to adjust to not much time at home since we are also busy a lot of evenings and weekends.

I carved out some time last night to make a card for a fellow stamper who is going through some tough times.  I am hoping this card will cheer her up!

Might be a few more days before I have another post on here.  I'll do my best to get a new card on by this weekend!  Sorry for the super bright photo - you get the idea :)  Have a great day - Kim

Back to Fall...

Here's a card I made for a demo swap I was in.  Generally, I like to keep things simple for myself and stay away from coloring.  However, when I saw this set I had to have it!    It's got a little bit of everything and only requires a smidge of work!  Paired up with some Comfort Cafe DSP and some water coloring using the ink from your pad and either a blender pen or aqua painter and you've got yourself a nice little wedding card.  Of course you could always crop out the wedding sentiment and use it for valentine's day, anniversary too :)

Snowflurry Season's Greetings

Switching gears to the upcoming snow season!  I love how clean this Bigz Snow Flurry die for the Big Shot is... I love it paired with this new textured impressions folder Lacy Brocade and the Pool Party card stock.

Although I love all the seasons, there's something about a great wintery day and a fascinating snowflake.  Silver glimmer paper adds a nice, simple touch! This would make a great card for any reason with a different sentiment - Love this set Curly Cute for it's versatility. I've got Christmas on the brain right now... if you ever need a good pick me up just pop in Elf and remember to treat everyday like Christmas!  Have a Blessed Sunday!

Welcome Fall!

Like I said, love this French Foliage set.  Quick and easy card that could be used for a number of occasions.  This particular sentiment is from the other set I'm loving, Blooming with Kindness.  While French Foliage doesn't come with sentiments, Blooming with Kindness comes with 5 along with the great flower.  Have a great Saturday!

Falling for French Foliage...

For some reason I just love this set!  I really love it with a couple of the new colors too, Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit.  I was looking to create a card that used this great ribbon that is on special this month.  With every $40 purchase you get a free spool (10 yds) of ribbon (choice of 5 colors) and this is one of the choices, Midnight Muse.  There is a link of the left to see the special.  The card I will share tomorrow uses the same two new colors and one of my new favorite sets, Blooming with Kindness.
I hope you enjoy the sets and colors as much as I do!

Summer Smootches... not just for summer!

Wow, this card really makes me smile :D  When I first saw this Bright Blossoms set in May as a sneak peek to the new (in July) catalog and the coordinating Designer Series Paper I knew it would be my favorite and had to have them both!  The colors are so fun and cheery and the stamp set is one of those that is easy to play with for all sorts of occasions or scrapbook pages.

Unfortunately, the sentiment you see here is retired as of June 30 (another of my go-to stamps) but the idea here is the layout.  It's a great interactive card that is simple to make and any recipient would love to receive!  The butterfly on the circle is adhered with a stampin' dimensional and keeps the card shut.  I will get a fall or Christmas card on the blog soon with this same layout.  I will also get the dimensions on here and some brief instructions tomorrow when I post the next card.  Stampin' Up! supplies listed below the pics...

I guess we'll start back with this one...

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted!  Sorry about that!  I love posting to the blog since it's a great way to share and keep a record of what I've been doing but unfortunately, as soon as life gets busy it's the first thing the gets put on the back burner.  All I've got to say is that if you really would like to see what I post and hate checking and seeing nothing new, subscribe to the postings so it notifies you when I actually post :D

I'll keep this one short and I'll start with a card I made way back in June for a swap I'm in.  I know people have done pinwheels before but I have always loved them and just had to recreate one in our Floral District DSP and the Stripes textured embossing folder.  Clean and simple with a little fun mixed in!  You can barely notice it in the pic but I also sponged the white with Baja Breeze.

Other Stampin' Up! supplies used...
Stamp Set:  Friendly Phrases
Other: 1/2" inch circle punch, Daffodil Delight 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, 3/16" Razzleberry brad,
Big Shot die cutter and items:  Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die for the rick rack.

If anyone is interested in how to make the pinwheel I would be happy to share dimensions and directions for this size if you email me.  -'til next time...  Kim
